Babies are truly interesting creatures. As a new parent, I sit in awe of what Little A can do, and what I would like to see him do. For instance, I would like to find the inventor of the playmat and thank him or her. The playmat, ah yes, the playmat. When Boppy has failed; the crib is no longer the place to be, and the Pack-n-Play is so three months..the playmat comes to the rescue.
You may ask, where does an old Clint Eastwood movie and a blue octopus come into my story? Simple, this particular playmat comes with a blue octopus. Picture a stuffed blue octopus with white sailor hat. Said octopus is intended to provide hours of entertainment for the little ones. Blue octopus engaged Little A in a staring contest. One that included a furrowed brow and a snarl that no parent can forget. Yes, the little guy incorporated a lip curl that could rival any Elvis impersonator.
The blue octopus, affectionately named “Octy,” provided daddy with more entertainment than the intended baby. So much so, this blogger never captured the moment with his camera. I was simply too distracted.
This daddy needs to remember to have the camera at the ready. I guess just like Clint the gunslinger? I digress. So next time we hear the famous theme
to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, let us not forget, babies can show their personalities in interesting ways.
